Sneakers to the USSR.

In the Soviet Union, the sneakers became popular after the sixth world festival of youth and students in 1957. Shoes "made in the USSR" was produced at the factory "Red triangle". Buy Soviet the sneakers can be had in any sporting goods store, at a price of 2 to 4 rubles. Every Soviet schoolchild was wearing sneakers on physical education and played football in the yard too them.

Especially cool was considered as imported Chinese shoes Two balls and Forward. They were of a higher quality compared to the Soviet, but to buy them was much more difficult. Chinese shoes had stylish design and colors, mainly blue, white and brown colors.

Sneakers in the USA.

In 1892, 9 small rubber companies, united in the corporation U.S. Rubber Company. Among them was Goodyear Metallic Rubber Shoe Company, which owns a patent for vulcanization - a manufacturing process that allows the rubber to be firmly connected with the fabric. From 1892 to 1913, the units of the U.S. Rubber Company produced their products under 30 different brands. The company decided to consolidate these brands into one name. This name was in 1916 all the familiar Keds.

In addition to the iconic Keds and Converse now, sports shoes with flexible rubber soles and tops of canvas were produced by the Coastal footwear, Patriot, Ashmont, Ball band, Hood, Pf Flayers and many others in the USA until the late 1960s.

Who wore sneakers? The same Keds and Converse positioned their sneakers as shoes for the whole family, convenient for sports and training. With a soft insole and a flexible rubber sole, they were able to withstand the loads that boots on the leather soles could not withstand.

Sneakers were popular with children and teenagers for playing baseball, basketball, boxing training and just as cheap and comfortable casual shoes.
